Turns out my previous posting was pretty lengthy. Here's what I think is the most relevant: and I quote...myself:

Why is "saving the earth" associated with 'hippies.'

*WARNING* This is a SWEEPING generalization: The majority of 'hippies' don't believe in the Christian God.

Why isn't "saving the earth" associated with people who BELIEVE in God.

Why isn't "saving the earth" associated with people who FIGHT TO PROVE THAT HE IS THE CREATOR of the earth.

Wouldn't it make more sense if the people who believe in God, believe that He created the earth, cared more for it than people who believe it's here by chance?
